Schaarbeek is hiring a radicalisation officer. Seriously

Are you serious? are you kidding me? you are pulling my leg right? no fxxxx way....I don't belive this but it's true. This is our taxpayers money....

Schaarbeek wants to recruit a radicalisation officer as soon as possible. He or she will have to coordinate the search for radicalised young people who want to travel to Syria. The commune is following the example of Mechelen and Vilvoorde. In those cities, such an officer is already at work.

'Some 100 fighters at most are currently in Brussels. This number could increase five- or tenfold'

Toilettes!!!

I am become really sick when I go to cinema and besides paying for the movie ticket they made you pay for the toilet. How come? it is almost for sure you will need to go the toilet when you are in the cinema!!!

Interestingly, even some many cinemas let you out of the building directly after the end of the movie, without even giving you the chance to go to the toilet again withoug walking around the whole building.

Is that service? are they treating us like cattle?  .....well in my opinion yes.

Luckily I  discovered a cinema where the toilets are for free!!! yes amazing. But the down side it is Mons, not really next to Brussels.  http://www.imagix.be/cinema-imagix-mons
Well done IMAGIX!!! you are light years ahead of your competition.
There was even a paper written "Les toilettes sont desormais gratuits" including a smiley....very funny indeed. Sorry I could not take a picture of this time I would of course have posted it here.

May the force be with you when you go to movies!!!!

Net weight. Really?

I am not 100% sure but could this be Delhaize or Carrefour?

UPS what about Imagination, creativity, improvisation, proactivity...?

I hate to generalize but I often hear people in this country have no imagination....and I am starting to belive this is unfortunately most of the times true!!!

Imagination, creativity, improvisation, proactivity.......they should teach more of this in schools everywhere. These skills are essential to survive in the globalised world and compete in a service oriented environment.

Anyway...I am not here to give a lesson, but just to show you two (yes only two, but I have many more indeed) examples of the lack of these competences in Belgium.

First is our friends from UPS :

It seems that generally, when you ask someone to do something "out of the box" it is a problem for them, and they don't know how to get out the box....and I wonder if they are aware of it. Like this guy who didn't want to read the paper written by one friendly guy who was not at home and was requesting the delivery guy to leave the thing at his neighbour. Something easy to do but apparently not "in the box" of the UPS guy.

Example number 2: My old racing bike, with which I did a lot refurbishing work myself.

I went to three bike shops in Brussles. I repeat, three bike shops. I wanted to buy and install a back wheel rack as you can see in the picture above. Well guess what they told me in the three shops...."No way, we cannot do that, it's too old bike, there are no racks that fit this bike, we cannot do it....". Even one of the shops suggested I buy a new bike.....but what pisses me off mostly is that they made these statements by looking at the bike 5 seconds. They didn't care less for my old bike nor for losing some minutes to figure out if they coud find a rack suitable for my bike.

Well I ended updoing the job myself, and buying all the parts I needed online in french or german shops.

I WILL NEVER AGAIN BUY ANYTHING IN THESE SHOPS.

And by the way, some moths after this happened I bought a new foldable bike. This time I bought in a friend's shop in Spain, and even including the delivery to Brussels, the price was way better than buying the same bike here in Brussels.

Damn it!!!! Never again I will trust bike shops in this city!!!!

back in action again!!!

Hi all!
I have had some personal matters that didn't let me keep this blog alive for a few years. Interstingly I still get questions from some friends such as "do you still write on your blog? I have a story to share with you...."  I have decided it is time to reborn this blog again, and bring more stories into it hopefully somebody will read them and make something like I do (just by showing up and giving visibility to these stories). Thanks for following and sharing any story worth bringing into the pointing view of this blog.
